So my NIN hoodie came in the mail today and it reminded me of that dorky photo there that I took back in 2015 around the time I got my fun. varsity jacket.
So here’s a comparison photo of then and now. Was super into fun., but now fun. is dead. 3 years later I am now into Nine Inch Nails. Not as deep as fun., I don’t think I could ever go that deep again.
But this is where I’m at tumblr. If fun. ever decides to return, I’ll be back. But for now, I’m riding the downward spiral.

What makes Grand Romantic even worse for me is knowing the entire backstory to the album’s production. Back then, I think I just ignored it, but I can’t ignore it now.
For one, it was supposed to be fun.’s third album, but Nate claimed it “didn’t sound like fun.” which nowadays I think is bullshit and he just wanted to go solo so he stole the third album (the credits for Harsh Light list it was worked on by Nate, Andrew, and Jack. That is a fun. song.)
It’s painfully cheesy about how much he loved his new girlfriend at the time (I heard they had a kid recently)
The tracks are all over the place
The production is fucking horrible (especially on Nothing Without Love)
Nate’s voice is not consistent at all (he sounds horrible on You Light My Fire)
What the fuck even is Brightside?
And the lyrics to AhHa, which was my favorite song, are so fucking insulting to fun. fans when you really take in account to what he’s saying.
Basically Nate Ruess is a terrible solo artist, and I’m sticking with Bleachers until he gets his act together and does something worth a damn.
Grand Romantic is a shit album. There I said it.
